The Ps have it!

I mentioned in a previous post that this house is going to be colorful!  I LOVE COLOR!!!  So as soon as I could I was at the paint store buying sample pints of paint.  You can get ANY color of Benjamin Moore paint for $6.99, which is not too bad to be able to try the color to make sure you like it.  I have a vision of what I want it to look like. It is translating that vision into paint chips that is a challenge.  I had a few misses for sure.  Way too bright and not bright enough.

I think I have settled on some color choices and realized that the color names seem to start with P.  No idea why?  Palladian Blue in the family room.  Pear Green in the breakfast room.  Philadephia Cream on the cabinets.  Doing a fun orange in the living room...Pumpkin Cream.  I had to promise David that it would not remotely resemble Longhorn orange.

These color swatches are not exact, and the Philadelphia Cream does not look pink.  Thinking I will try a jewel tone in the dining room to play off the orange.  Avalon Teal has caught my eye, but I do not know what it will look like on the wall.  I will let you know.

These are my orange choices.  Top left looked too much like sherbet,  Bottom left was too much like clay.  Top right looks like orange. I like it!  Did you know that Orange is the 2012 color of the year?
Color of the Year 2012

So the color of the year is really Tangerine Tango.  I consider that orange!

These are some of the colors I tried in the family room.  This is knotty pine paneling which I love. I just will love it more when it is painted.  Palladian Blue is lower right and Pear Green is upper left.

So excited to finally get some color on the walls.  I think it will really brighten things up a bit.
