This is my 1st attempt at blogging. Have wanted to start a blog for a very long time and now finally decided to just do it. You see, I am about to embark on a project that I felt was blog worthy. We have bought a home near where both David and I grew up. Hence the title....
Home Again. We are going home. Home to our roots. And we could not be more excited.
This home we have bought is special. It is really special. It has been home to a family for 39 years. They raised 3 children in this home, and the owners are now elderly. It has been loved and is filled with many wonderful memories. I hope we can add to the memories and good times that have happened in this place. But it needs some TLC. Some new paint. New carpet. Updates in the kitchen and baths. And it will be our
home...again.
Moving is nothing new to our family. In fact, we have moved 8 times since we were married almost 24 years ago. This will be our 9th home. We are going to a new
home...again.

This does not look like much and I am sure you are wondering why this house? Do you see the trees in the front yard? There are lots of them! I had no idea how important trees were to my environment, to my feeling of being at home, until I had a home with no mature trees in the yard. May sound silly and just might be, but I am so excited about the trees! And look where the house is located...at the end of a cul de sac.

This is the living and dining room which is located right off the entry foyer. Traditional to the core! The living room will be transformed to a pool/man cave room! We do not have much need for a formal living room. However, a pool table will make it a room we will use.

Check out that chandelier! It is what I picture in my mind when I imagine what a chandelier should look like.

This is the back of the house. Love the cedar shake shingles. The yard is huge and cannot wait to sit around the fire with friends. Lots of room for the dogs to run and play and maybe room for a putting green.
Lovely house, Tracy. You will have so much fun making it your home. Especially with that beautiful fabric you scored! :)
ReplyDeleteCouldn't ask for a better setting...those trees are wonderful!! I am looking forward to seeing the transformations. :)
