Manic for Fabric

Many months ago David and I went wandering through a furniture store.  Off in the distance I noticed some throw pillows on a sectional sofa.  It was love at first sight...if it is possible to fall in love with a fabric. It was bright. It was happy.  It was ME.  I knew then that if we got the house I wanted to have pillows made out of this fabric.

A little background.  When we lived in Florida, our house was filled with color.  People actually asked me to help them pick out paint for their house.  I LOVE color and like lots of it in my house.  I can admire and appreciate a house that is neutrals.  However, it is just not me.  When we moved from Florida I started to try to add color.  But I just stopped.  I lost interest.  I did not know why at the time.  Now I know it was because I knew that we were not staying.  In fact, a friend who knew me well in Florida saw pictures from my current home and said it did not look like me....not enough color.

Back to the fabric. I became a woman obsessed and had to have that fabric. The only source I knew was through the furniture store.  A few phone calls and a field trip with 2 less than enthusiastic boys in tow provided me with a price....over $100 a yard!!!!!!  For fabric!!!!!!!!  That would simply not do.  So I began to stalk the web and fabric stores locally.  The funny thing about fabric stores is that they will not tell you who manufactures the little samples that hang on the walls.  It is a secret.  It did not stop me.

I found it.  And it was not $100 a yard!  I was ecstatic.  The story gets better.  On a whim I decided to go into a craft store that I know carries home decorator fabrics too.  The Lego Master and I wandered the aisles and would you believe that there it was.....50% off!!!!!!!!  Truly I could have danced a jig right there.  So my house will be colorful and this fabric is what inspired it all.
